To Our Friends and Sponsors
Project Stepping Stone (PSS) was launched by the Indianapolis Chapter of the National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA) at the request of Commissioner Stan Jones of the Indiana Commission of Higher Education. Our goal is to help our Indiana Hispanic youth see the value of education beyond high school by graduating from college. For most of the students, this dream seems out of reach. Many of their parents have limited education or have never attended any higher education. PSS provides opportunities for students to realize that their dreams can come true. It takes a lot of work and determination but it can be done. At PSS, students will meet and spend time with Hispanic professionals that have turned their dreams to reality.
Proven Success
Since its inception, 90% of the seniors that have attended Project Stepping Stone have entered college. Students that have completed PSS in turn inspire and encourage other students in the community. Many have even presented to principals and the school board. Our students are also eager to return to the program year after year to mentor new PSS students. With this kind of success we know we are making an impact.
Project Stepping Stone aims to have over 1000 Hispanic high school junior and senior participants. This may increase based on high demand and need. We have several businesses and educational institutions that are providing dollars or in-kind donations to help us cover student expenses. Our real dollars costs are approximately $500 per student. That is a small amount of money when you look at the success that these students will have.
We Need Your Help

To HS Principals, ESL/ENL Coordinators, Teachers & Staff
As educators, academic leaders, and influencers who touch the lives of many students, you are challenged daily by the obstacles that keep students from moving on to higher education. As you know, Hispanics lead the country in high school drop out rates. Project Stepping Stone was launched with the sole purpose of helping Indiana’s Hispanic youth realize the dream and importance of a college education. Since it’s inception, PSS has witnessed a 90% success rate in getting our graduates into college. And it all starts with one week at Project Stepping Stone.
